A 20-year music industry veteran and organizer, Mat has worked in management alongside iconic artists including David Bowie and David Byrne and helped developing artists reach Grammy nomination, Coachella, The White House, and worldwide critical and commercial acclaim.

Since the election of 2016 Mat has focused his career on organizing and activism within the music industry - first as Executive Director of the nonprofit Mission Impact, which has driven support to marginalized communities in over 70 US cities through partnerships with artists including Lake Street Dive and Rubblebucket - and for the last three years as CoFounder and CEO of ShowUp, a platform helping to create and support activism in the music industry. With partners including The Orchard, ADA, Downtown, EMPIRE, and Symphonic, ShowUp works directly with artists, labels, distributors, and anyone else within the industry ecosystem to help integrate activism into release strategies and all other areas of industry business.
