Benjamin Baker is a composer and performer based out of Kansas City. As a performer, Ben appears on multiple freelance recordings, including projects with EMAS of Kansas City and the band Friendly Thieves. He is the co-founder of the recording performance collective II-WANDS. Notable awards Ben has recently received include the 2022 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award for his piece PRIMORDIAL, as well as attending the Visby International Centre for Composers in 2024 as a composer-in-residence.
Benjamin received his B.Mus. in Composition from Ohio University in 2020, and his M.Mus. in Composition from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2023.
