TALK SHOW HOST NPR'S LOUISVILLE PUBLIC MEDIA
Ayisha Jaffer most recently joined NPR's Louisville Public Media with a rich public radio history focusing on community, perspective and humanity in storytelling. Before coming to Louisville, she worked at Minnesota Public Radio's The Current as a weekday host and interviewer of many talents from Janelle Monáe to The Killers. Prior to this, she was at WNXP Nashville in its beginnings as a Midday Host, Music Director and Assistant Program Director and was the first female and BIPOC host to hit the mic in the afternoons at WYMS Radio Milwaukee.
Beyond broadcasting, Ayisha has built a long career in music management in the US and New Zealand, working with artists like Lorde, Cut Copy, and Architecture in Helsinki, and tour managing musicians from Jamila Woods to Marlon Williams.
In addition, she has worked on film sets in the arts and props departments for projects like "Ash vs. Evil Dead" and "A-Typical." Ayisha has also served as a park ranger in Alaska and now enjoys working on wildlife conservation efforts, kayaking, and DJing any space that will make you dance.
